Born in Lucca, Italy, winner of national and international competitions, he played as Principal bass with different symphonic and chamber orchestras. He performed in more than 85 different countries. He holds master classes in Italy and abroad for important institutions and is Double bass professor at the Royal College of Music of London and at ISSM L. Boccherini of Lucca.
Teaching in Geneva and in many masterclass around the world (Italy; USA; Argentina;France; UK; Spain; Uruguay; Serbia, Russia; Chile; Brazil). Playing chamber music, recitals, solo concerts. Composing new pieces.
Alberto Bocini’s been Principal for 5 years “Orch.Naz.dell’Accademia di Santa Cecilia” in Rome and for 15 years “Orch.del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino” in Florence; he appeared in the same role with Teatro alla Scala, London Symphony Orchestra and others.He is a member of the popular double bass quartet “the Bass Gang”. Since 2009 he is professor at the HEM /Haute Ecole de Musique de Geneve.
Furio di Castri was born in Milano and taught himself the bass as young boy. Professional gigs began happening in 1977, quickly followed by the formation and eight year lifespan of Lingomania. Trumpeter Enrico Rava grabbed the bassist for his rhythm section in 1981. Di Castri also worked with Dino Saluzzi, Dave Liebman, Ray Anderson, Albert Mangelsdorff and the trio of pianist Michel Petrucciani. From 1986 he was collaboraing with the British composer John Taylor, tenor saxophone great Joe Henderson and Paul Bley. He has worked in rhythm sections with many fine drummers such as Paul Motian, Tony Oxley, Barry Altschul, Daniel Humair, Billy Elgart, Jon Christensen, Joe La Barbera and Bruce Ditmas. Di Castri teaches bass master classes at the music institute in Sienna.
Jimmi Roger Pedersen (JRP) is a professional freelance double bass player, composer and educator. JRP was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, 1965 and in 1986 he studied double bass with legendary Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen (NHØP) at Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen. Jimmi was nominated as best solo instrumentalist in The 2009 JPF Music Awards in Nashville, TN USA. Received multiple national grants over the years. Jimmi toured with jazz pianist Horace Parlan and backed artists such as Benny Bailey, Al Grey and Lee Konitz. He has 100+ records to his credit including two solo bass albums. Composed 100+ pieces including music for larger orchestras. Recently released a new learning system for double bass 'theMELTconcept'.
